Spring Sunshine - Plus Size Daily Outfit!

These photos are actually from the weekend, when it was nice outside.  Of course, Monday, I looked outside and it was actually snowing.  Blech. I am done with snow!
This cardigan does fit correctly, but the material of the white blouse kept catching it and making it bunch up for some reason.  *note to self: Use a different button-up for layering.
Here you can see the print on the tank underneath a little better.

Outfit Details:
Jeans - Avenue (my old faves - and they're about to go to denim heaven)
Coral & White Patterned Tank - Old Navy (last spring)
White Button-up Blouse - One Stop Plus
Coral Cardi - Old Navy (last spring - I actually ordered two of these on accident, and the first one was ripped on a car door, so this is #2)
Floral Sequined Flats - Lane Bryant (So comfy!  Jimmy calls them my "grandma" shoes.)
Four-leaf Clover Necklace - Avenue

Trixie is so excited for Spring weather too!

She loves "fetch", but hates to let go of the frisbee!

 Check out those ears!
I hope you are all enjoying some nice Spring weather!

Puppy 'n Plaid - Plus Size Daily Outfit!

Tonight Jimmy and I went out to dinner with his sister and her family to a Vietnamese restaurant that they love.  I'm not usually a big fan of Asian food, but I told them I'd give it a try.  It was yummy!  Much more authentic than the American-style Chinese food that I'm used to.
My nephews were cute, as always, and the youngest, Alex, was telling his mom about how he got hurt at school today.  His big brother, Evan, broke in and and told their mom that an eight-year old (Evan is five) pushed his brother.  My sis-in-law asks him, "Did you tell that boy not to mess with your brother?"  Evan gave her a look like she was insane.  "Mom, he was an eight-year old!"  It cracked me up!

Here's what I wore to have dinner with my family and to play with my puppy:

Outfit Details:
Brown Slub Tee- Old Navy
Plaid Button Up - Jessica London via OneStopPlus.com
Blue Ribbon Trim Cardi - Old Navy
Jeans - Avenue
Mixed Metals Flats - Avenue (last year)
Necklace - Forever 21 (I think!)

Here are some gratuitous Trixie action shots:

 Trixie-girl needs a haircut!
The sis-in-law and I are going to another photography class tomorrow, so hopefully I'll learn something useful!
Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!

Style Stealin' - Plus Size Daily Outfit

The other day, the lovely Vanessa fom Big Girl. Small Budget. Tiny Town. was rocking a black skirt with a camel colored sweater and a belt, and I absolutely loved the look.  I always admire Vanessa's outfits and the way she plays with color and layers, but this specific "black and tan" look really inspired me to pull pieces from my closet to try my own version.  Thanks for the inspiration Vanessa!  You are amazing.

My photos still aren't quite as sharp or well composed as Vanessa's but I'm working on it. Slowly, but surely.

Outfit Details:
Black Jersey Maxi Skirt - Sealed With A Kiss Designs
Leopard Print Cami - Catherine's
Tan Sweater with Buckle - OneStopPlus.com
Black Snakeskin Print Flats - Thrifted
Wooden Beaded Necklace - Avenue (a few years ago)

I really liked the way the red in the necklace made my red lipstick really stand out.
I've definitely gotten over my fear of mixing brown and black! Now it seems to be one of my favorite combos.

Alive and Well - Plus Size Daily Outfit

Yes, I am alive.
I have not been a very good blogger lately.  I started school last week and have been preoccupied with getting things together for my first clinical day tomorrow, on top of trying to get a head start on the ton of assignments I have to finish.  So I've been back to yoga pants and t-shirts for most of the week.

Jimmy did take me out to dinner tonight though, and I asked him to snap my picture on the way into the restaurant.

 Check out that sky!
Outfit Details:
Chambray Button-up - OneStopPlus
Gray Ruched-sleeve Cardi - Avenue
Dark Denim Jeggings - Old Navy
Black Oxfords - Target
Gunmetal Gray Handbag - gift from sis-in-law
Jeweled Bracelet - Avenue
Jeweled Bib Necklace - Modcloth

I wanted to share with you guys that I have decided to join Weight Watchers again.  Partly to lose some weight, but mostly to feel better in my body.  The past few years I have gained over 50lbs (yikes!) and have had very poor exercise habits.  I did WW, along with working out at the YMCA, before my wedding back in 2008 and lost about 20lbs, but more importantly just felt better.  I had more energy, felt better in my clothes, and had more confidence. Jimmy and I are also thinking about children in the not-so-distant future and I would like to be as healthy as possible when I start trying to conceive.  Jimmy and I are also planning on joining the YMCA again to start getting into a regular exercise routine.
I just wanted to share, because I know that many of you probably have gone through or are going through similar struggles, and hopefully we can help each other out when motivation is low.
