Yes, I am alive.
I have not been a very good blogger lately. I started school last week and have been preoccupied with getting things together for my first clinical day tomorrow, on top of trying to get a head start on the ton of assignments I have to finish. So I've been back to yoga pants and t-shirts for most of the week.
Jimmy did take me out to dinner tonight though, and I asked him to snap my picture on the way into the restaurant.
Check out that sky!

I wanted to share with you guys that I have decided to join Weight Watchers again. Partly to lose some weight, but mostly to feel better in my body. The past few years I have gained over 50lbs (yikes!) and have had very poor exercise habits. I did WW, along with working out at the YMCA, before my wedding back in 2008 and lost about 20lbs, but more importantly just felt better. I had more energy, felt better in my clothes, and had more confidence. Jimmy and I are also thinking about children in the not-so-distant future and I would like to be as healthy as possible when I start trying to conceive. Jimmy and I are also planning on joining the YMCA again to start getting into a regular exercise routine.
I just wanted to share, because I know that many of you probably have gone through or are going through similar struggles, and hopefully we can help each other out when motivation is low.

OMG!! I want to steal you.. have you go shopping with me and just get you to pick out the cutest clothes!!! I love your outfits!! AND THOSE SHOES!!! OMG!! I had to scream to my hubby to show him those shoes!! ;) You have such amazing style!! <3 it!!
ReplyDeleteHelloooooooo, nurse! (Haha, pun intended). This is such a gorgeous outfit, and perfect accessories. Those SHOES!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you blogging again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It's the type of shoes that I like, part lace-up, flat and in a brogue style. I admire you going to the weightwatchers! I mean even though we are big but we want to be healthy too! I also feel myself losing energy and I definitely want to do something that will help me on the right track. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute. That Modcloth necklace is really neat. And those flats - what a find!
ReplyDeleteI did Weight Watchers for a little while last year but couldn't afford it for long. I liked how it really made me pay attention to what I was putting in my mouth. I actually have a problem with not eating enough, so the points system helped me eat more.
Do you read Blue Collar Catwalk? She's asking readers for their fitness goals to add to her Sweaty Wednesday post, and I signed up to be included. You should check it out!
This is a great outfit! Especially love the accessories. Those oxfords are the first pair I've seen that I've really liked. :)
ReplyDeleteTrisha - Wow, thank you so much! You are so sweet. I would love to go shopping together! I'm always up for shopping!
ReplyDeleteFashion Flirt - Hahahahaha! I love it! Thank you, it feels good to get back into the swing of things. Happy New Year to you too!
The Merry Traveler - I have actually had these shoes for a few months now, and just saw them languishing in my closet, so I decided to take them for a spin. I had no idea they would get such a wonderful reception!
Ms. Ten - I am doing the online program, and it does get a little expensive. I try to justify it as "Well, I'm not spending that money eating out. . . " lol. I have a problem with portion control. I don't eat very often, but when I do I eat too much. WW seems to be the best way to keep me in check. I do read Kyla's blog, and was actually thinking about submitting to her! Thanks for the reminder!
Bombshell Beauty - Thank you! The oxfords have been a surprise hit. Even Jimmy like them (and he's funny about shoes)!
Hi, I've been a lurker for the past couple of months and thought I'd say hello! I love seeing your daily outfits. We are similar in size (but I'm much older @40) and have similar tastes!
ReplyDeleteI've just rejoined spark people (www.sparkpeople.com) and love it there. Have you tried it? I like WW too - just don't have the extra funds at the moment!
Best of luck to you! Hope you'll visit my blog :)

I check out your blog here and there; yea I'm one of those undercover readers hahaha. Anyway, I love the way you dress your body and I love the energy that transpires through your picture. It seems that you're having a lot of fun with it, though I'm sure that not all days are fun.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on WW !! And future kids ! And loving yourself even more ! And... and... and everything !
*yea, I'll stop drinking coffee*
Sherry - I have used Sparkpeople.com in the past, and thought it was a great resource for keeping track of what I was eating. They also have some great communities to join, which seemed to help keep my motivation high.
ReplyDeleteYoli - Yes! I need a WW buddy! My sis-in-law is trying to watch her calories and work out more, so I'm leaning on her now for motivation. The more people I've got to keep me in line, the better. : )
Elle - Thank you so much! You really just made my day. I usually do have a lot of fun with my outfits, and really enjoy blogging, but of course there are "those days". . .
Thank you for your comment and your well wishes!
