Friend Friday - All About Shoes!

1.What is your go-to pair of shoes?
My go-to pair of shoes lately have been my sequined floral flats from Lane Bryant. They seem to go with nearly everything (well excepting some wild patterns), and are super comfy for my wide feet.

2. What goes into your shoe buying decisions?
I have extremely wide feet, so fit is usually the top priority for me. Of course, style is a close second. I hate buying a pair of shoes that seem to fit great in the store only to wear them out, and find that they're devices of torture!

3. The majority of the shoes in your closet are what color?
I probably have more brown and black pairs of shoes than any other color (which is probably the case for most women), but I have a pretty good variety of colors in my closet. I really need to find a great pair of red flats or wedges, though.

4. When it comes to design shoes what are your favorite brands and
why?

My favorite brands to wear are Softspots and Born. They are always so comfy! Softspots run up to a WW and although Borns only come in a M width, they always seem more like a W to me. Neither brand has the most fashion forward styles, but for comfort they can't be beat.

5. If price wasn’t an issue, you’d own which shoe?

Since I'm not much of a heel girl, I would love to own a pair of Tod's leather moccasins in a fun color like orange or red.

Pattern Mixing - Daily Outfit

Today I only had a lecture, so I dressed for comfort and warmth because it was only 47 degrees when I left the house.  Not that I'm complaining!
For some reason, parking at school was completely crazy today.  I usually have to circle the garage once to find a spot, but today the garage was so full they actually blocked off the entrance and weren't letting anyone in.  There is a parking lot across the street from the garage to park in, but it was full too!  I kept seeing signs that said "Additional Parking" with an arrow pointing further and further away from school.  I followed the arrows and every single lot was full!  I would have had to park 6 blocks away from school!  I decided to make one more round, to see if they were letting people in the garage, and lucky me, they were!  I was only a few minutes late to class, thankfully.

So here's what I wore to curse in my car and run to class:

 Outfit Details:
Pink & Grey Striped Long-Sleeved Tee - Lane Bryant
(I know it's hard to tell this is striped, but I promise it is!)
(See? Stripes!)
Pink Patterned Cardi - Old Navy (on sale now)
Jeans - Avenue
Coral Flats - Born brand
Earrings (that you can't see) - handed down from my mom-in-law

I also wore my hair naturally wavy today, since I went to bed with it wet last night.  I just didn't feel like using the flat iron today.
(Yes, I put on lip tint before I took this picture.  I forgot to put something on before I took my other pics and was too lazy to retake them all. )

Outfit of the Movie Date

Today Jimmy and I went to lunch and to a matinee of Inception. We tried a new Mexican place, and it was really yummy. The movie was really interesting, and we both really liked it.

Outfit Details:
Colorful Blouse: Catherine's
Denim Pencil Skirt (yes, my legs are that white): Lane Bryant
White Cardigan: Old Navy
Coral Flats: Born
Wooden & Silver Bangles: really old
Earrings: I think I stole them from my sister
Sunglasses (it was really sunny& hot today!): Rayban Wayfarers

I wish this top were a little shorter, and I may end up hemming it a bit. I think it hits me in an unflattering place and looks shapeless. I do love the colors though! I actually had a lady in Krogers stop me today to tell me that she liked my blouse. It's always nice to get compliments from strangers!

I'm sorry that I haven't done many outfit postings lately. It's been so hot and I've been such a homebody lately that I haven't been wearing many real "outfits". I'm going to try to kick things into gear again, so stay tuned!

Don't forget that today is the last day to send me Sparkle & Shine photos to be featured in the "Style Show &
Tell" post!

Daily Outfit

Today I had an extra long lecture (4 hours, blech), and when I got home, Jimmy was working on making a special dinner for me. He's so sweet sometimes. : ) He made these delicious chimichanga type things with wonton wraps and homemade black bean salsa. Super delish! I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture before I ate every last bit. Oops!
Anyway, here's what I wore to sit through a long class, and to eat a fabulous dinner:
Sorry about the wrinkles, but sitting in a cotton shirt for four plus hours will do that. ; )
Outfit Details:
Blue racerback tank: Old Navy (I think this is meant to be a pj top, actually)
White tunic top: Target
Jeans(my favorites): Avenue
Sunglasses: Target
Embossed Croco Earrings: Forever 21
Orange Beaded Bracelet: Old Navy
Coral Flats (I love these shoes!): Born via 6pm
