I was reading my August issue of InStyle magazine, and came upon an article about some of the new trends for fall and how regular women call pull them off. One of the trends was wearing socks with skirts. I'm not sure how I feel about this trend, to be honest. I vaguely remember the last time it was cool to wear socks with skirts (roughly around 1991), and that time was a blur of neon, scrunchies, hypercolor t-shirts, and bad perms. I'm not sure I'm ready to revisit those memories.
What do you guys think? Will you be wearing socks with your skirts this fall?
Nope. I'm not a fan of socks anywhere, anytime unless it's at the gym. I will, however, jump on the 1950's-era trend that this InStyle page is channeling.
ReplyDeleteHeck no. As if want to shorten my already short & chubby legs. Leave the look for the gals who are 5'11." Can't think of any '80s look I want to see again - we looked frumpy and the excessive makeup made us look old before our time.
ReplyDeleteI love this look, but haven't quite figured out how to make it work for ME. Hmmm ....
ReplyDeleteBombshell - I'm with you! I do love the vintage feel of the skirt.
ReplyDeleteBarb - I don't think I can do it either! I don't need anything to make my legs look shorter!
Sal - I can't wait to see if you're able to make it work. If anyone can do it, you can!
Hello..... I saw your twitter post and thought Id stop by..nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing TONS of socks with skirts lately....I think I may just give it a try....:)
BTW...super cute blog!
Collette - Thank you for stopping by and commenting! I love meeting (well, sort of) new people!
ReplyDeleteI like the look on some people, but seriously I don't know that I can pull it off. Plus, I'm just so lazy, I hate wearing socks. I don't even wear them throughout most of the winter.
ReplyDeleteI just might rock my socks with a skirt or two. I LOVE SOCKS!! It's one of my treats to get myself funky looking, bright, colourful fun socks :D
ReplyDeleteThere is no way. Socks belong in a gym. I also only wear them when I'm sick and my feet are finally cold. Other than that, no.
